TY - STD AU - A. Chambodut, J-J Schott PY - 2010// TI - INSIDE THE SOUTHERN POLAR CAP : GEOMAGNETIC FIELD OBSERVATIONS AT CONCORDIA STATION (DOMEC, ANTARCTICA) N2 - Dome C permanent magnetic observatory was opened at the beginning of 2005 in the inland of Antarctica (lat. 75°06'S, long. 123°23'E). The observatory, located above an ice shelf of more than 3 000 meters thickness, is unaffected by crustal field contaminations and coastal tidal effects. Furthermore, it lays inside the Southern polar cup, close to the South Corrected Geomagnetic pole. In these regions, the Earth’s magnetic field is stronger and the external field influences are enhanced. The magnetic observatory operates in the standard way : 1 Hz magnetic measurements are recorded withabsolute measurements controlling the triaxial variometer base lines and total field records provingadditional redundancy. The validity of the measurements is discussed in the light of the data provided by the nearestobservatories and in comparison with various geomagnetic models N1 - exported from refbase (http://publi.ipev.fr/polar_references/show.php?record=531), last updated on Tue, 05 Jul 2011 17:07:55 +0200 ID - A.Chambodut2010 ER -
